His name is Elijah.
It was during a routine 32 week checkup at the maternity center when my midwife called an ambulance. Five hours later, my son entered the world. He was six and half weeks ahead of schedule. Our previous parental skills were insufficient for this mini baby. We were unprepared to deal with the potential medical issues associated with our premature babies. Our primary goal became constant and complete surveillance. In our scramble to facilitate this new goal, we stumbled upon an article on baby-wearing. We adopted the practice, and the rest, as they say, is history.
Carrying Elijah in a sling became more beneficial than we ever imagined. He has received a "clean bill of health" from the eleven medical specialists who examined him. They were so impressed with his problem-free development that they encouraged us to continue to do whatever we were doing. Our baby at 9 months, is still underweight, but is happy and thriving. We believe that the warmth and security provided by the sling has benefits beyond our understanding. In an effort to share that joy with all parents, we created our own baby sling company called KinDer Karrier.
