Dear Commissioner Nelson,

I have provided you, on numerous occasions, with information regarding unfair business practices taking place in the legal malpractice insurance industry in Florida, specifically between The Florida Bar and its created malpractice carrier, Florida Lawyers Mutual Insurance Company. As I have mentioned in previous correspondence, I believe a conflict of interest exists with regard to the relationship between The Florida Bar and Florida Lawyers Mutual Insurance Company. I also believe that The Florida Bar, by virtue of its relationship with its created malpractice insurance carrier, has been operating in a corrupt manner that is detrimental to the citizens of the State of Florida. You have been provided with enough information to investigate my allegations. Instead, you have chosen to totally ignore me and this situation and have not even had the decency to respond to me.

Mr. Nelson, you are now a candidate for The United States Senate. If you prevail, you will be
representing me and my fellow citizens as a United States Senator. How can I, or any citizen of Florida,
have any faith in your representation of us in The United States Senate when you have neglected your
responsibilities as Insurance Commissioner. Am I to assume that when you decided to run for higher
of fice you relinquished the responsibility of the position you now hold?

I respectfully await a prompt response from you.

Very truly yours,

Meryl M. Lanson
