Dear Ms. Lanson:
Attorney General Butterworth has asked me to respond to your letter expressing your dissatisfaction with The Florida Bar in the handling of your complaint against two Florida attorneys.
After reviewing your correspondence, I must inform you that the Attorney Generals Office does not have jurisdiction in this matter. By contacting The Florida Bar, you contacted the correct agency to review your complaint. The Florida Supreme Court has designated The Florida Bar as the agency responsible for the review of grievances against lawyers licensed to practice in this state.
I hope you will understand that the Attorney Generals duties are prescribed by law and are not discretionary.
